Pilgrims of Hope
Pope Francis has declared 2025 as a year of Jubilee with the theme
Pilgrims of Hope,
giving voice to his desire for the year to foster
- a greater sense of global sisterhood and brotherhood,
- solidarity with the poor,
- and caring for the environment.
In spite of everything we Christians can have Hope.

The NZ Catholic Bishops Conference has created a special online page of resources for parishes and individuals to use as we walk together towards Jubilee 2025 – Pilgrims of Hope.

By using the app, which is available in six languages, you can access all the latest news on the Jubilee, register as a pilgrim for the Holy Year and obtain the Pilgrim Card for free. Once registered on the portal, you will also be able to register for Jubilee events and pilgrimages to the Holy Door.
By navigating the intuitive and simple menu, the user can ‘save’ events they are interested in, easily access their personalized area and get the unique QR code needed to pass through the Holy Door.
The Jubilee Prayer
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
