Sacred Space
Your Daily Prayer Online
Welcome! We invite you to make a 'Sacred Space' in your day, praying here and now, as you visit our website, with the help of scripture chosen every day and on-screen guidance.
It offers a reflection, the Gospel of the Mass of the day and ends in prayer.
Among other great stuff, Universalis has the best 15-minute podcast each week on Church/prayer/ministry I know of: "The week ahead". Click here.

Pope's Prayer Intention April:
That every might have food
Pope Leo XIV releases his prayer intention for the month of May, and invites Catholics to pray that everyone might have food, as he highlights how millions of brothers and sisters continue to suffer from hunger while so much food is wasted.
These monthly intentions serve as a compass to guide a mission of compassion for the world, inviting the faithful to mobilize in prayer and service for the great challenges facing humanity and the mission of the Church.
Each prayer intention is the result of a synodal process of discernment in which the Church from countries all over the world participates. At the end of this process, the Holy Father, after his own prayer, chooses them and offers them to the Church.

Who are you when all the noise and influences of the world are quietened? There’s a moment in the Gospels when Jesus heals a man who is deaf and can’t speak.
And he says “Ephphatha”. The Gospel tells us this means “Be opened”. We can be open to all sorts of things in our life through what we hear. What kind of music we listen to, who we follow on social media, things people say to us… How often do you find yourself picking up the same phrases your friends use? Or adopting words from trends that go viral?
It all gives us a sense of who we are. But… can you imagine a world where you never listen to music or youtube, never hear the news, never “hear” the many voices that try to tell us how to speak & how to act? I’m talking about more than just the sense of hearing - I mean, who would we be if we didn’t have so much noise and busyness around us?
